Landscape (Design/Build) Sales

The Landscape Division Salesperson is a full-time, entry-level sales position that will lead to an independent sales role in season 2 following appropriate learning, development, and success. This person will learn all aspects of landscape design/sales and how MLP operates to achieve its 4.8 Google rating from the existing team of highly experienced and successful sales leaders. This position is responsible for providing world-class service, communication, and consultative sales to residential landscaping clients and existing condominium property managers and commercial representatives, HOAs/Boards, and their landscaping committees. This position reports directly to the GM of the landscaping division and receives significant input, direction, and coaching from the senior salespeople.

Primary Responsibilities (year 1):

Assist GM and full landscaping team achieve the 2024 revenue, gross profit, and net profit commitments
Extensively shadow and partner with senior sales leaders to learn all aspects of the design/sales process at MLP
Learn and master the process of site consultations, base plans, and proposals
Observe and gain a strong working knowledge of the installation process (post-design) from start-to-finish by working with the Operations Manager and shadowing senior crew leaders
Develop solid understanding of core jobs and the materials most frequently used, including, but not limited to, hardscapes, retaining walls, brick pavers, boulders, stone, and local trees/shrubs/flowers
As soon as possible, transition to taking primary responsibility for meeting with clients, developing presentations/designs/pricing for jobs up to $15,000
Scope and responsibilities will increase as fast as learning and results dictate
Year 2: with leads from the company and independent development of clients, generate sales of $1M+; Year 3+: $1.5M+ annually
Experience/Skills Required:

2+ years of consultative sales experience in a service industry (any experience in landscaping or lawn maintenance or a supplier to the industry a plus, but not required)

Passion for design and aesthetics and making things beautiful as our Vision is to “make properties beautiful”

Successful track record of achieving annual business objectives/goals

Internally motivated and driven to succeed

Internalizes MLP values: team first attitude, personal leadership, shared success, and innovative thinking

Ability to act as an ambassador for MLP in every client and team interaction

Always curious about “what comes next” and the drive to research new trends and materials while also pursuing personal growth and development

Enjoys working outside, able to lift 25 pounds or more, willingness to meet the clients when their schedules permit (nights/weekends, if necessary)

Compensation:

Year 1: salary based on prior experience and bonus based on landscaping division financial results

Year 2: salary based on year 1 performance and commission based on gross sales and gross profit margins
